Physiology |
Ligionella are ubiquitous, gram negative, motile, fastidious, aerobic bacilli. Legionella exists in the family Legionellaceae. Nosocomial infections have been recognized with reservoirs in the water distribution systems, cooling systems, and hot water systems of hospitals.
