Detect and identify yeasts and fungi in urine specimens.

Physiology |
Asymptomatic funguria often ultimately clears spontaneously. However, candiduria with >1500 colony forming units/mL of urine is associated with increased mortality. Urinary obstruction due to fungus balls may occur in diabetes and following renal transplantation.
