Indication |
Isolate and identify potentially pathogenic organisms causing urinary tract infection.

Physiology |
A single culture can detect the presence of organisms. Gram stain from 0.2 ml of centrifuged urine cultured in the medium is very sensitive method of screening bacteriuria.

Normal Range |
No growth. Significant bacteriuria is usually considered to be 10 5 CFU/mL.
