The slogan of the meeting is East Meets West
emphasizing the need for developing Eastern countries to meet Western world to
share the knowledge and learn. Specialists in the West have been familiar with
Retinopathy of Prematurity and its treatment for decades, while the majority of
the Eastern world ophthalmologists and neonatalogists are facing these
challenges just now. Nevertheless, we all have interesting and exciting
experiences to share. This is an unprecedent opportunity to hear and participate
in presentations and discussions on the most recent advances in ROP
pathogenesis, etiology, epidemiology, screening, classification, treatment,
outcomes and rehabilitation, to interact informally with key opinion leaders,
and to debate the future diagnostic and treatment strategies for achieving our
common goal prevention of blindness due to Retinopathy of Prematurity.
